So, I'm finishing up on an order for a client and I realize, as I type in the label and heating instructions, that I've got not only "Moroccan Stuffed Peppers" (and had to resist the urge to garnish with several tiny fezzes...) but also Mexican Stuffed Baked Potatoes...when my brain, in a desperate attempt to steer me away from clown-car analogies and Mencia-like jokes about how MANY Mexicans you can fit in a potato...reminded me of the innovative dish that I came up with the other night with the help of the Captain and Skivee:

We were talking about Tofurkey...the malleable properties of tofu...and I thought, well, hell, if you can make a Turkey out of it, why not...

Why Not a TofuBaby?

Think about pulling him from the oven next holiday, a little apple in his mouth, garnishing the platter with a mixture of parsley and....baby's breath...(a white flower, commonly used in arrangements, for those of you botanically-impaired) Oh, the possibilities are endless!

I just need funding and, I have to admit, I'm struggling with getting the face...and those tiny little fingers right....

I am sure you could make a negative mold for the face from a cheap doll, but I am thinking you could serve it under a cabbage leaf.

I went to the you know they have to have molds for those baby dolls you see in the store - and I know porcelain dolls have them. All you need is to - -

I trust you already know of the now-defunct Hufu? It doesn't have the aesthetic appeal of TofuBaby, but I'm told they did a lot of testing for flavor and mouthfeel. ;-)

Lady,

I love the idea! if you need help and even though I am cooking challenged I will do what I can.

Pylgrum's idea about the cabbage leaf is great. You could also have little plastic storks as the centerpiece.

Love, hugs and kisses,

Louis
