So, okay, I've had my official "transition" weekend from Virginia Faire -- since I've learned that I can't go cold turkey and dive into cleaning up the house, and doing all the post-faire work. (As much as before Faire opens, really, just without the funny clothes on the weekend and that feeling of abject nausea I get when facing an impossible printing deadline, fielding the fifth "I can't be there this weekend" call from volunteers, realizing that all of the copy centers are closed kind of stuff.)

If I just suddenly stayed home and contemplated the squalor that is my home and car, I'd probably just set it on fire, change my name and vanish.

So, instead the Captain and I headed to Celtic Fling,

Not strictly true of course, again, the cold turkey thing...so we had a party. Where I learned:

Even if you don't fill up the hot tub with ice or water, someone will still fall into it.

That I'm going to figure out how to explain to people named Sanchez that I cannot possibly shake their hand.

People really do like jicama, they just don't know what it is. And basing a drinking game around taking a drink everytime someone says "jicama" is a bad idea.

My friends can drink an ***load of rum.

My baby makes the best mojitos.

(Or should those last two be in a different order?)

Ours is the last kind of party you should show up to if you're a musician and think you'll have groupies giving a damn. What a bunch of attention-whores we are!

Sure, we didn't have a midget and the donkey was on two legs, but the spirit of Fellini was there.

I'm going to stick by my theory that a good party should end while everyone's still having a good time, rather than drift slowly into nausea, passing out or overall crabbiness (that latter one would be me.) Despite kicking everyone out abruptly at 12:30pm, so far, no one seems to be holding a grudge. And, because I got a decent night's sleep, I wasn't bitter about spending the next morning picking up the dessicated lime halves and mint leaves that littered the hotel room.

Thanks for hosting the party it was a fun time and glad to see you all up there.
1230am was a good time to get kicked out... sort of :P and apparently, somehow, I missed some interesting happenings...

Ah well, until the next party or faire... cya!

Dude. Two words: The Sanchez

You missed nothing you needn't prep a therapy bill for.

Oh sure
