My company has three openings -- which is not a huge deal, but they have very general requirements - can you multitask, are you personable and can work with customers, familiar with Microsoft Office, do you have som drive to get things done, are you presentable in a professional office. So -- I know we all know folks who are looking. If you do, encourage them to check out the career listings at www.a--ven---dr---a.com. Just take out the dashes. (Hey, no need for my LJ to pop up in our company searches, if you know what I mean.)

Most of the time our jobs are either admin assistant or require a body of either hospitality or food background or both.

It's right off 270 on the Rockville-Gaithersburg line, benefits etc are pretty standard, opportunities for advancement pretty good.

Private message me if you've got someone who's interested; I'm happy to answer questions.

No accountants darnit. Oh well - I'm looking north anywa. Wheeeeeeeeee

Oh a silly note, I applied for a position with The Baltimore Symphony...and promptly forgot to list my OMG YEARS with The Winfield Regional Symphony as their (unpaid) equipment manager and lead percussionist.

Not a lot of call for that to show up on a normal resume don'tchaknow.

Yeah, we've had accounting positions from time to time - but the commute from Laurel would be hellacious. At least until the ICC opens all the way -- THEN it may well be a breeze. But for now, you'd have to go down 95 to the Beltway, around the Beltway to 270 and north on that (which is easy, against rush hour!) for a couple of exits. But it would take you easily an hour. And that was during the time period when you thought the benefits of staying outweighed the benefits of leaving. You will be the first person to know if something changes.

Actually—no. You take 95 to 198, and 198 East until eventually you hit a cross point to the ICC.

My colleagues who live in Baltimore say this usually takes longer...depending. Some do that, some go all the way around.

Well, going from Baltimore to Gaithersburg/Germantown via 70 to 270 takes about 65 minutes.

My parents live five minutes south of the Layhill Rd. interchange of the ICC, and it takes me 37 minutes to get to their house.

Going around the DC beltway is a crapshoot, because you could either zip right through, or get caught in wall-to-wall traffic from one end to the other.

I'd try the ICC.

i especially liked the job description for Implementation Analyst:
"The primary role of the Implementation Analyst is to project manage implementations and support the implementation process by performing analyses on newly implemented customers."

with the role requirement:
"Comfort with ambiguity"

that's beautiful. :D

on a serious note, good luck to your company finding good candidates and ESPECIALLY good luck to those seeking employment. *crossing fingers*

"Comfort with ambiguity" is our mantra. Small growing company pioneering a new concept...that's what you get.

Although that job description explains why half the company is downstairs in the basement taking a business writing class. And I'm up here, enjoying the relative silence. It's like placing out of English 101 all over again....

no, i liked comfort with ambiguity!!! i've never seen it as a job requirement before, but i liked it. mostly it was pairing it with the job description that got me.

you will be implementing the implemented implementation for implemented customers, and you should feel comfortable with the ambiguity in doing so.

it's like working at MY company! :D
