Yes, yes, I got a major project done and I'm blowing off steam before bending to the grindstone of the next four that were also due last week.

But I couldn't resist when I saw this quote from a recent speech given by Newt Gingrich: "I have two grandchildren — Maggie is 11, Robert is 9. I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the time they're my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists and with no understanding of what it once meant to be an American."

Now, his flacks are saying that he mistakenly deleted the word "or" right before potentially. Which is good, because pandering, misguided, political scam artist, wrong-thinking, I'll give you all of that...but I never thought of him as stupid.

And I suspect he still isn't -- and suspect it was indeed just a dropped word -- pandering? Oh, my YES. Because the sea change that would have to happen for the United States to become dominated by radical Islamists...Newt, you're a historian, for crying out loud. You KNOW the possiblity of that happening is nearly non-existent, if not completely impossible.

The day my husband-at-the-time (the man I married was a long haired, stoner artist liberal hippy) said that Newt Gingrich was his role model, and I thought who ARE you? What happened to that guy I married? was probably the beginning of the end for our marriage.

Oh, PLEASE, Newt. Once "Americans" worried that the IRISH would ruin this country, what with their Catholicism and child-bearing. Look how THAT turned out.

Newt Gingrich is the epitome of arrogant, ignorant, self-serving, lying, hypocritical, political douche nozzles. All one need do for clear evidence of this is realize he was leading the charge to impeach a president for getting his knob polished by an intern, while all the while he himself was conducting a sexual affair of his own that spanned several years, while he was still a married man.

If I had the opportunity I would hit this asshole in the face with a shovel so many times the molecular structure of his entire head would simply dissipate into nothingness.

If he is who the Repugnant-cans believe is their best hope as a presidential candidate, then all hope is officially lost with them.

I've never been able to figure out if Newt's brain works faster than his mouth or the other way 'round, but it's indisputable that the gears haven't meshed for lo these many years.

And I think we Irish did a damn fine job ruining this country. Just like you snooty WASPs to not give credit where it's due.

I just had a happy thought; Newt, donald, Palin, Barbour, et all trapped in a roomfull of snakes. Their only hope of survival, is the info from that PBS Nature show on venomous animals that played last month. But, Oh Yea! they cut the funding for Public Broadcasting.
